RedHook Tick Off Killer Week Trifecta with New Song ‘Off With Your Head’ & Headline Tour

Let’s take you through RedHook‘s week.

Firstly they were announced as a support on the massive Smashing Pumpkins x Jane’s Addiction Tour heading around the country in April, frontwoman Emmy Mack celebrated a birthday and now they’ve dropped a new song AND an album launch tour with a stack of mates in celebration of their forthcoming debut record Postcard from a Living Hell – out April 21st.

‘Off With Your Head‘ is a rave/rock concoction with some serious issues surrounding the context behind the lyrics, which Emmy explains:

“I wrote the lyrics to ‘Off With Your Head’ at a time when I was feeling overwhelmed, appalled, and devastated by a number of horrifying injustices going on in the world around me. Over in the US, the overturning of Roe v. Wade robbed women and girls of the fundamental right to make informed decisions about their own bodies, the consequences of which I, along with many others, knew would be deadly and devastating. While in my own backyard, I watched on in horror as cancel culture was weaponised by a sick person with a cruel vendetta to destroy an innocent woman I loved and admired. I felt sick with anger, and powerless to do anything about it, so I poured everything I had into this song.”

It’s enough to make you want to scream, and there’s plenty of it in this new offering – which we’ll be able to see live when the band head off on tour alongside Bad/Love, Belle Haven and Grenade Jumper in May following its release (and the band’s support slot at The World Is A Vampire Fest)
