I'm finding it hard to fathom the last time we covered Emperor live in Australia was for their debut run in 2019 (our Melb coverage here) with our reviewer/photographer Sean Fabre-Simmonds stating:
"So I often go to see these bands with a sense of trepidation. That was not the case for Emperor. They were heavy, tight and put on a phenomenal performance. That one was definitely a tick off the ol’ bucket list."
And now they're coming back for another short run for fans in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland in May 2023 thanks to the team at Soundworks Direct Touring. The band will also be focusing on songs from their debut release In The Nightside Eclipse which is certainly going to set symphonic blackened metal fans' tongues wagging.
