Wall of Sound presents: “2022 YEAR IN REVIEW” – by Thornhill’s Jacob Charlton

The ARIA-nominated Thornhill absolutely took control of 2022 following the release of their latest album Heroine. With stage shows that just stepped the fvck up from their metalcore days, the outfit honed in on their prog side, scoring fantastic opportunities in the process and opening a new door for new fans to start getting #Horny4Thorny too.

Before you catch the lads wrapping up their most successful year to date at Good Things Festival (kicking off in Melbourne/Naarm today) take a look back at 2022 through the eyes of frontman Jacob Charlton and find out what he was frothing all year long both in and out of Thorny world with our next Year in Review…

BEST MUSIC VIDEO OF 2022?

Void of Vision‘s ‘INTO THE DARK’ is definitely one of my favourite videos of this year. Jack [Bergin] had been talking about “THE” shot of the black feathers falling for a long time and it turned out insanely cinematic paired with the costuming.

FAVOURITE GIG YOU PLAYED THIS YEAR

New York City on the Erra tour was easily the best show we’ve ever played in another country and we couldn’t be more thankful for the reception we received.

BIGGEST WTF OR WHOLESOME MOMENT FOR YOUR BAND

Seeing our videos and promos projected onto the sides of buildings was a crazy experience, a very wholesome moment seeing all our hard work up for the world to see.

ANY SNEAK PEEKS OF YOUR 2023 PLANS FOR FANS?

Hopefully heading to Europe more than once next year to make up for lost time, so euro fans get ya eyeliner ready.

BEST ADVICE GOING INTO 2023?

Be open to change, you’ll never stop growing and you should never want to.
