There seems to be something in the water in Sydney, Australia, as the emergence of incredible heavy deathcore acts from the area that have gone on to great things is staggering; big names such as Thy Art Is Murder and Justice For The Damned are just a few examples. Not far behind these deathcore heavyweights are To The Grave. If you have ever found yourself wondering what the future of Australian deathcore might look like, I urge you to take a seat and acquaint yourself with this band as you will hear their name thrown around frequently as they cement themselves as the next big Australian act to keep your eyes on.
This group only recently blew the minds of those who witnessed them perform at CVLTFEST in Melbourne where the Knight and Day alums proved that they are a force to be reckoned with. Perhaps this was just a warm up for when the group head to Europe/United Kingdom in a few months to tour with Shadow Of Intent, Enterprise Earth and AngelMaker as they make their mark on the world stage.
Today however, we are lucky enough to be given a new single from the group titled ‘Red Dot Sight’. Staying true to their heavy deathcore roots, the Sydneysiders have exceeded all expectations with this one. The new track is a riffy masterpiece with guitars tuned low. Vocalist Dane Evans flourishes at he expands on his already incredible vocal range, with the whole group proving they’re European touring circuit ready.
Update: To The Grave have announced ‘Red Dot Sight‘ will feature on forthcoming record Director’s Cuts, out February 24, 2023 via Unique Leader Records. The record will feature Samuel Crocker of Antagonist A.D. and Jesse Christiansen of Bled Out.
