Ummmm Harper Has Released Her Own Screamy Single ‘Falling’

It’s been a great week for the kids of today getting into heavier music – firstly Stranger Things featured Metallica‘s ‘Master of Puppets‘ in the EPIC Season 4 finale – the guitar parts for the soundtrack were recorded by OTTTO‘s Tye Trujillo (yes, son of Robert) and already we’re starting to see a spike in hits for the metal masterpiece on the charts all around the world.

Now onto Harper, the girl who made headlines around the world last month for screaming her way onto America’s Got Talent by covering Spiritbox has dropped her own song and it’s proving the future of heavy music is in safe hands with the next generation. ‘Falling‘ features djenty guitars and haunting atmospheric synth behind Harper‘s now-iconic screams, but just you wait until you hear her cleans too. It’s no surprise that the track sounds very similar to what Spiritbox are doing – Courtney LaPlante is an inspiration and mentor for Harper and by the looks of things, Pale Chord Music have signed the metalcore upcomer to their roster alongside her idols.

Overall, it’s a bit softer than anticipated, but it’s going to serve as a great introduction for other kids to get into heavier music, especially if they already appreciate the screams of the core community. If this creates a flood of new talent giving screaming a crack, then the world will be a much better place to live.

Congrats Harper, we’re keen to see what you do next! Give it a spin below and on streaming platforms!
