Breakthrough Mongolian metal juggernauts The Hu are set to release their long-awaited sophomore album Rumble Of Thunder, out September 2 via Better Noise Music. It will feature the new second single off the album, ‘Black Thunder’, a song that incorporates Mongolian values, telling a powerful story of battle, faith, and death.

Speaking about the new track, vocalist Galbadrakh Tsendbaatar (aka Gala) shared:

Black Thunderis the crown jewel of our second album. The music video is split into two parts and conveys the core values of men through visuals. Our producer Dashka chose a unique location in Mongolia to shoot the video, where we had a great time riding the horses in the vast grassland of our countryside. We hope that our pride in our culture shines through, as we aimed to bring viewers joy and a piece of our culture through this video.

At the start of 2020, the legends were charged and ready to play in front of thousands of excited fans at the Aussie version of Download Festival in support of their debut album The Gereg. Not long after their arrival in Australia, they managed to play gigs in both Adelaide and Brisbane (our coverage here), only for the world to go and get bat-soup fever and the whole event was cancelled, just a handful of days before it was all meant to happen. As a result of the urgent restrictions put in place, the Mongolian metal band were forced to remain Down Under for a month until they were able to return home.

Well, they must have loved it here because they’re returning to our shores in August to finish off the remainder of their first-ever tour of Australia. The show promises to be an absolute pearler on the back of a triumphant North American tour, which included a killer set at Coachella in April. About the experience, SF Gates Ariana Bindman wrote;

The last time I fell in love, it wasnt with a person. It was with a seven piece Mongolian heavy metal band belting out guttural war cries while playing Motorhead style riffs with traditional horsehead fiddles, electric guitars and flutes. Behind me, people of all backgrounds bob their heads, raise their fists and scream in harmony. Im watching The HU at Coachella, the first music festival Ive attended since the world forever changed. And theyre f*cking epic.

With a fan favourite album in the bag and a second on the way, this tour will be one you’ll kick yourself over if missed. Get all the details below and jump into the wonderfully heavy world of The Hu!
