This band’s can’t stop, won’t stop attitude is infectious and they’ve certainly made up for their time away from touring during the pandemic…
The Devil Wears Prada only dropped their Zombie II EP in May last year and already we’re onto the next big release with the announcement overnight of their new album Color Decay, which is set for release on September 16th via Solid State Records. Having already unleashed two singles titled ‘Watchtower‘ and ‘Sacrifice‘ (without knowing they were part of this album) the band announced everything overnight with the next single from it ‘Salt‘ – a gritty, melodic approach that the band says is about:
“…trying to move forward and then feeling like nothing ever changes, even when you’ve seemingly done everything right… It’s the sort of feeling that makes you question every move you’ve ever made.”
Color Decay marks TDWP‘s eighth studio album and it was inspired by the mundane day to day living and pushing through without progress feeling we all get at times. That experience turned into a collective feeling for the band and eventually helped write the rest of the record:
“Initially, the lyrics were just about having trouble writing songs for our new record, but soon, we realized that this feeling of fighting only to be stagnant and held down applies to so much more in our lives. It was really a breakthrough track and allowed us to dive in even deeper into what became Color Decay.”
