Alpha Wolf & Holding Absence Unveil Split EP "The Lost And The Longing" + Drop 'Aching Longing'

In what would have to be one of the best surprises of the year (so far) Alpha Wolf announced a split EP titled The Lost and The Longing (out August 15th via Greyscale and Sharptone Records) alongside post-hardcore heroes Holding Absence which sent fans into a frenzy on their cryptic social media posts earlier this week - and today, the first single from it features Lochie Keogh joining the UK boys for a melodic offering (with his signature wolf howls) and it's going to pull on the heartstrings and bring out all the feels inside you.

Holding Absence - who just wrapped up their first Aussie tour alongside Void of Vision and released their album The Greatest Mistake of My Life back in 2021 - took the lead with 'Aching Longing', a guitar-driven anthem showcasing frontman Lucas Woodland's alluring vocal performance. The frontman of the Wolf Pack's section adds a very healthy dose of anger to the song just before a pleasurable breakdown. It's beautifully cathartic and an unexpected soft spot has emerged for the lads.

With three more songs to come, including two new tracks for each band (without features) we can only imagine how this is going to fill the void between albums perfectly. Alpha Wolf's ARIA-nominated album a quiet place to die was released in September 2020. So imagine what they've been working on since then... Offffft!
