Parkway Drive Share Update Following US Tour Cancellation!

parkway drive band update

On April 7, Parkway Drive announced via their socials they were, unfortunately, cancelling their North American Tour citing personal issues and fatigue following a hefty touring schedule that lasted nearly 20 years. We well and truly felt for the lads and despite some push back from self-entitled “fans” they faded into the background to work on themselves and promised to “grow and return stronger” upon comeback.

That day is today!

On their socials, the band posted an update that reads:

“The last few years have been tough on everyone. Having toured non-stop for 17 years, the shut down was a major challenge. While we set our minds on other creative paths, we also gained a greater perspective of the impact this band has had on us. Mental health is an ever present issue within our society and we are no exception. As touring started back up, we found ourselves at a crossroads. Continue down the same path, risk more damage and more than likely destroy the band and ourselves, or take the time needed to do the work on ourselves and heal. We are doing the work and know that ultimately, this was the correct choice. Thank you again for your understanding. At the end of the day, we are all just humans doing the best we can. Be kind, and please speak to someone if you need help.”

They also left one final response to those questioning the future of the band, simply stating:

“For the record, we are here to stay.”

Fuck yes.

Can’t wait to see what these lords do next and we’re glad they’re being so open and vocal about their own struggles. At the end of the day, they’re only human, just like us, and when you’re constantly on the ball, time does catch up with you and can have a massive impact on your mental health if you ignore the signs. Get keen for a refreshed and re-energised Parkway Drive.
