Easycore Heroes Grizzlyshark Make Promising Return with 'TMS'

Since their inception in 2018, Grizzlyshark have put forth their ambition to be Australia's heaviest pop punk band. Okay, maybe that's not exactly what they want to achieve. But someone needs to fill the void in our hearts that Skyway left. 'Vicarious' was a certified banger back in 2020 and 'Remember the Black Box' saw them tackle short bouts of heavier post-hardcore styles.
These Brisbane upstarts are keen to get the ball rolling this year and aspire to make 2022 their biggest breakthrough yet. They've jacked up their production team to include Troy Brady (The Amity Affliction, In Hearts Wake) and signed on Four Year Strong's Alan Day as co-writer. Absolutely huge!
Now that introductions have been made, it's time to make way for Grizzlyshark's brand new single 'TMS'. Immediately this sounds like a tightened, rejuvenated energy from the boys. Building on their previous strides to produce bouncy riffs and breakdowns, 'TMS' has that and so much more. It's more melodic than anything we've ever heard from them before, and it's evidence they've made great strides musically in the last two years.
To take us through the track, vocalist Andrew Taylor shares:
"The chorus portrays a scenario where a pair who previously were tied romantically together meet after years apart as if they are strangers again. In this, they still wish each other well but acknowledge that the other no longer is what they want for themselves. A different spin on the old breakup song."
Honestly, I'd slot this right in with your favourites from New Found Glory, Four Year Strong and half of the Pure Noise catalogue. 5/5 standout.
