Vermont Kickstart New Energy in 'Over Our Head'

Melbourne emo/rock outfit Vermont have emerged with their brand new single, 'Over Our Head'. While it's their first single in two years, there's kind of a renewed energy going on here, and we think it might be because of who they've teamed up with — Sam Bassal (Ocean Grove). I thought those explosive riffs sounded familiar.
While vocalist Josh Swanwick claims that 'Over Our Head' took over a year to come to fruition, it was the help of Sam that really saw their vision and helped them take it to the next level:
"Sam Bassal was an undeniable influence behind our ultimate final product. The moment we met with Sam was the moment we knew this release would mark a very special time in Vermont’s existence. This song marks the beginning of a new era for Vermont; an era in which we will value the precious moments shared with our best mates and every second shared performing our creation."
Despite its title, the boys aren't in over their heads at all. The Victorian emotionally-charged rock outfit have emerged with a fresh outlook on their music and it shows with those punchy riffs towering over Josh's melodic vocals. Although softer than what we're usually hearing out of Melbourne, this act sound pretty promising, especially if they continue down this new perspective. If you're a fan of 2000s emo acts Silverstein or Story of the Year, Vermont will feed that fire!
