Sam Carter & Fiancé Abby Kirk Unveil Children's Book About Pet Adoption

Architects' frontman Sam Carter and his fiancé Abby Kirk really love animals (like a whole lot) and to celebrate their love, they've created a new heartfelt piece of art they hope will change the way the world looks at adopting and re-homing pets.

Sophia Fox Dog Gets Adopted - is a new children's book by Sam and Abby which was conceived during Abby's time working as a teacher, where she came into contact with several kids who had been through the adoption process/foster care and didn't have much representation of their stories in children's books. Taking inspiration from their own rescue hound Sophia (Insta: @sophiafoxdog), the pair penned her story as a way to not only tell a story about adoption but also encourage others to help join the re-homing brigade to help find homes for the vast array of surrendered pets around the world.

On the new project, Sam revealed on his socials:

"I’m so extremely excited to announce that myself and my fiancé have written a children’s book starring none other than @sophiafoxdog This is something I’ve always wanted to do and I’m so stoked that we’re doing it!

“Sophia Fox Dog Gets Adopted” was written by Sam Carter and Abby Kirk when Abby was working in a school with many children who had been in foster care or through the adoption process. They realised that their stories were largely not represented in children's books and wanted to write a book for the class to show that their stories were important too."

The story also aims to teach children to think about what rescue dogs may have gone through in the past before finding their adoptive families. This is a cause close to our hearts and a large portion of the proceeds will go to @wunderdogrescue_ and @romanian.rescue.appeal to help more dogs like Sophia find their forever families.
