Dayseeker Deliver Melodic Metalcore Magic With 'Neon Grave'

Have you been long awaiting new Dayseeker material? Wait no longer and rejoice! The Orange County sweethearts have laid down delightful single 'Neon Grave' as they continue to tour their 2019 Sleeptalk record (thanks COVID). The post-hardcore/metalcore band have certainly been keeping busy, particularly vocalist Rory Rodriguez, who recently featured on Darko (US)'s latest single 'Come Home'. Rodriguez is no stranger to a guest-spot either - last year he jumped on Patient Sixty-Seven's 'Antithesis'.
So let's check out 'Neon Grave' - does it live up to the hype? Oh yes, it does. With a Volumes' esque style, Dayseeker slip into a subtle and brief shoegaze ambience before the tickling riffs kick in and rumble in a drum-roll for Rodriguez to deliver the most gorgeous clean verse you've ever heard. It doesn't take long for him to step on the gas though, with the rest of the band delivering an orchestral and anthemic metalcore section, reminiscent of a Currents influence. Oh, did someone say metalcore? Get to that three-quarter mark and your stank-face will surprise you with a yummy breakdown.
