MOD SUN Returns with Pop Punk Belter ‘Rich Kids Ruin Everything’

Anyone else feel like MOD SUN deserves more credit? The man is a multi-talented musician. After making his mark on the scene with last year’s Internet Killed the Rockstar (review here), he branched out into film direction with Machine Gun Kelly for the online film Downfalls High. Not to mention, he’s also a named co-producer on Avril Lavigne’s comeback record, Love Sux.

It’s been awhile since MOD SUN’s own music has surfaced though. But, after absolutely crushing it on singles like ‘Karma’, ‘Betterman’ and ‘Flames’, the alternative/punk rocker is ready to surge again with new single ‘Rich Kids Ruin Everything’. Despite its all-round cheesy title, the track is anything but.

Launching straight in with a super polished pop punky intro, the song is an anthem for poking fun at the privileged rich kids of society. Featuring super affluent riffs and an infectious chorus, ‘Rich Kids Ruin Everything’ feels more like an empowered tune of determination for the ones that had to work hard in life. Its tongue-in-cheek demeanour fits right in with MOD SUN’s previous record; honestly, it marks the artist’s bounciest single yet.
