Papa Roach Share New Single 'Stand Up'

If you think Papa Roach are slowing down, then you might've been ignoring their activity over the past year or so. 2021 saw the punk rockers release their Greatest Hits Vol. 2: The Better Noise Years (which we chatted about with frontman Jacoby Shaddix about here). Last year also saw the Tony Hawk Pro Skater sound-track veterans share new singles 'Swerve' (a collab with Jason Aalon Butler of Fever 333 & Sueco) as well as 'Kill The Noise' and 'Dying to Believe'.
Papa Roach have now dropped their latest effort dropping today as well, titled 'Stand Up'. The 2022 single is a nu-metal stampede with a distorted riff laden-chorus that'll be sure to induce a head-bang or two. There's some major Rage Against the Machine vibes in Shaddix' vocal/rap effort, however Papa Roach manage to balance the hip-hop with the hard rock nice and evenly.
Shaddix commented on the new single below:
"Stand Up is Inspired by the social unrest of marginalized people throughout the world. It’s about feeling of wanting to give up when you’re backed against the wall. For the ones that have been oppressed for so long that a sense of hopelessness is all they have. Stand Up is meant to inspire that whisper that small voice inside that you are worth standing for. Step into empowerment and shake the world with your voice."
