History was made over the wekeend when Alpha Wolf FINALLY played their biggest headliner show to date at The Tivoli in Brisbane alongside The Beautiful Monument, Wildheart and a very sneaky 15 minute set from Void of Vision – who were in town and helped fill some time due to To Octavia pulling out after a COVID case got in the way of their appearance.
Not only did we hear banger tracks from Alpha Wolf‘s ARIA Nominated album a quiet place to die (revisit our review here), but the band proved first and foremost that they’re kicking ass and taking names when it comes to stepping the fuck up in their headliner position as one of the fasted upcomers in the metalcore scene. Fun Fact: The last time we saw this band peform in Brisbane, they opened (at the same venue) for Polaris, Wage War and Crystal Lake. Now the attention was on them and what they’ve been working on since the pandemic got in the way of their world domination and goddamn it was well worth the wait!
One of the key highlights of the night was when the boys slowed things down for their album single ‘bleed4you‘ which also features The Beautiful Monument frontwoman Lizi Blanco… annnd because they were tour supports, Lizi strolled on stage and got down to business with a performance for the ages that NEEDS to be heard in a live setting. As the band played and screamed their way into our lives again, Lizi’s haunting and alluring vocal performance added a beautiful, contrasting moment amidst the chaos that ensured from the second the wolves hit the stage. This was Alpha Wolf‘s first performance of the song with Lizi in tow and it was well and truly appreciated.
If you missed it, you know what to do… But don’t stress, we captured the glorious moment below for y’all.
See these bands on tour if you can, you honestly won’t regret it – also ‘AKUDAMA‘ live was an absolute fucking riot!
