Alera Release Thrashy Masterpiece ‘Hirudo’ Ahead of Debut EP Next Week

They’ve built up quite the hype surrounding their emergence into the Australian heavy music scene this year, and Victorian post-hardcore outfit Alera have stuck by their ethos through and through. Their ethos being a rich musical experience that’s designed to encapsulate raw, intense emotion.

Ahead of the band’s debut EP Beware the Snake next week, Alera have delivered one more tasty offering and this one may just be their heaviest yet! ‘Hirudo’ absolutely crushes the heavy music sphere with its frenetic energy, and melody-driven riffs. The band elaborate on its meaning:

“A story is told from the perspective of the giver in this relationship after ending things. Ridden with bitterness and remorse, the song closes with a cautionary warning for the listener – beware the snake.

Continuing to impress us more and more with each new release, ‘Hirudo’ comes hard and fast like a flash of lightning and will set you up for the band’s full release in a week’s time. With that being said, the future looks sure as hell bright for Alera.
