The Last Martyr have found their heavy groove with their latest single, taken from the upcoming Purgatory EP!

Bursting back into the scene with a sceam - the band's new single 'Freaking Out' discusses themes surrounding falling in love after finally being fond of your own company. Frontwoman Monica Strut hones in on her screams while the band plays along in the background with their own metal/djent sound, taking the band to a new level with the help of producer/mixer Chris Lalic.

On the new song's conception, Mon tells us:

"'Freaking Out is an anthem for anyone with an avoidant attachment style struggling to let someone in. This track was one of the most difficult to pull together as only one of us was allowed in the studio last year when we were recording it and the rest would Zoom in. But although it felt disjoined to write, it came together in the end and is collectively our favourite track off the EP!"

Fans will be able to get their hands on the new EP on December 10 which will kick off a big year for the band on Australia's revived festival circuit with features at UNIFY, Uncaged Festivals and more.

"We've been holding onto the Purgatory EP for so long due to not being able to shoot videos or do photos or anything on and off the last 2 years. But it was definitely worth the wait as the response to the tracks we've released so far has been so amazing. We're definitely excited to get out on the road next year and play them live for everyone!"
