KoRn Are Teasing Something With Posters Spotted in Sydney + Melbourne
UPDATE: New KoRn song dropped and album announced… All the details here
Although many of the biggest nu-metal bands on the planet never really disappeared, they all seem to be releasing dropping new music or commencing new album cycles, all at the same time. Just last week we were lucky enough to hear Slipknot‘s brand new track ‘The Chapeltown Rag‘, and less than a week before that, we had Limp Bizkit drop their surprise album Still Sucks (our review here) on Halloween.
If you want to go full Illuminati on this ‘nu-metal’ revival, we could even go as far as looking at Disturbed specifying their return on Facebook ahead of some shows, only weeks after Draiman featured on Nita Strauss‘ new track ‘Dead Inside‘. This is a slippery slope, as Aussies Ocean Grove just dropped a new track too, titled ‘Cali Sun‘, but alas, let’s focus on the topic at hand.
Aside from touring, we haven’t heard too much musically from the KoRn camp recently. The band members have had a bit going on. We know that frontman Jonathan Davis contracted COVID which momentarily stopped their U.S. tour, and Fieldy had to step away from the band for a bit too. Outside of KoRn, Brian ‘Head’ Welch has been smashing it with his other project Love And Death (check out interview with Head here) and we know the band hosted a global livestream a while ago.
Fast-forward to now and there’s no doubt that KoRn have been teasing a whole bunch of stuff, including mysterious QR codes, but more on that in a minute. Overnight a whole bunch of KoRn posters have been popping up around Crowbar, Sydney:
Edit: spotted at The Tote in Melbourne:
There’s been puzzles involving an Instagram filter, suggesting new music with codes for fans to crack (similarly to Slipknot with ‘The Chapeltown Rag’). It seems like mega-fans have cracked the code in the r/Korn subreddit, and figured out that the nu-metal giants have something with the word ‘Requiem’ as the winning label.
Korn’s latest Instagram filter. NEW music being played too it looks. from Korn
Finally, KoRn have just shared an infinite/ongoing teaser on YouTube with “11 https://Kornofficial.com 11″ in the caption. Our guess would be the date 11/11 for a new song/album/something else completely, but we’re yet to find out – we’ll share more as it gets revealed…
