Jack White Returns With Two Versions of New Single ‘Taking Me Back’

GRAMMY Award-winner Jack White has returned with brand new single ‘Taking Me Back’ after nearly four years. The song comes from The White Stripes extraordinaire in two different versions, one for the just-unveiled Call of Duty: Vanguard video game trailer and another as a standalone single, titled ‘Taking Me Back (Gently), and aptly so, considering the nature of the video game. White also recently launched his own design company called Jack White Art And Design.

The ‘Taking Me Back’ edition that features on the Call of Duty trailer is filled with White’s signature guitar tuning. It’s got all the Raconteurs/Saboteurs (for AUS) sounds. Vocally, White is on point more than ever and spills awesome grooves across the track. The song crescendos into an instrumental medley which holds the track’s rhythm in a wonderful way.

However, Taking Me Back (Gently) is a very different track. It has more of a country/folk vibe about it with White’s voiced tuned distortedly to deliver a completely alternative sound. The diversity is impressive, and the concept of two different versions is fantastic. Both versions are included below for you to contrast, compare and simply enjoy.
