Upon A Burning Body Slither Back With Thrasher ‘Snake Eyes’

Upon A Burning Body A New Responsibility review

Upon A Burning Body are back baby! The deep-south Texan band have unleashed ‘Snake Eyes’ through Seek & Strike records, which follows on from their 2020 EP Built from War. It’s hard not to love these guys as they blend metal/deathcore elements with groove-metal aggression – an approach that’s led to a unique and addictive sound.

The band have just released ‘Snake Eyes’ which we anticipate will be the first track off an upcoming EP/LP and it’s a bit, different. Upon A Burning Body have explored thrash-metal elements with the new song and lean into some classic sounds from the Big 4 and more. Frontman Danny Leal leans into the thrash-core and changes the pace of his vocal effort accordingly. It’s a really interesting direction for the band and sounds like an awesome combination. Don’t get us wrong, ‘Snake Eyes’ holds UABB’s deathcore roots in a filthy breakdown amidst the thrash mayhem. Will this be a new direction for the band? Let’s wait and see.
