Wade MacNeil’s Side Band Dooms Children Delivers Emotional Single ‘Heavy Year’

If you’re a fan of Alexisonfire then by default you have to love the side-projects which have spawed from that band like Dallas Green‘s City & Colour and now Dooms Children – is the brainwork of Wade MacNeil bearing his soul for the world to see, hear and feel…

Following on from the success of his debut singlePsyche Hospital Blues‘, Wade is back with his reflective new song ‘Heavy Year‘, an emotional look inside the mind of a man struggling with his own demons while trying to make sense of the chaos in the world around him.

On the new single, he reveals:

“This song is about not running away from suffering. It’s about feeling it, living it, and moving past it.”

His forthcoming album was half written before he went to rehab and finished after his stint, so there’s going to be a lot of heavy themes throughout that showcase a vulnerable side of one of heavy music’s most notable musicians. The debut self-titled album is out October 20th and will tell the story about Wade’s journey to sobriety in a different style to what we’re used to from him in his previously released work for Alexisonfire and Gallows.

“Dooms Children is about falling out of love, about addiction and lying awake at night wondering if you’ve made all the wrong choices.”

Sometimes we all need a reality check and I feel this will be the album to make us stop, think and act on our future.
