Invent Animate Sign to UNFD + Announce New EP 'The Sun Sleeps, As If It Never Was'

Invent Animate have been blowing our minds for years with their technical metalcore goodness, and things are about to get a whole lot bigger for the band. They have just signed to UNFD which is extremely exciting, and they'll be releasing an EP titled The Sun Sleeps, As If It Never Was coming out September 23.

The first track has been released today and is titled 'The Sun Sleeps'. On the track, drummer Troy Celaya intimately shares:

"We wanted to explore both sides of a deeply painful situation, and to draw out how nuanced and weird and difficult these things can be.

I think people are learning in the modern day it's not as simple as ‘this is just a bad person, and they were addicted to drugs and they did it to themselves’, there's always a string of trauma and things that are not dealt with and stigmatised mental health that sets off a spiral. Even if one person is clearly in the wrong, it doesn't exempt them from being a victim in another sense.”

'The Sun Sleeps' is highly emotive and explosively heavy. The guitars screech with prog-heaven and the chaotic vocals cast an earthquake in its surroundings. The song steadily builds and the energy is enormous across the four-piece band. It's got some older Northlane 'Quantum Flux' vibes about it, particularly as it breaks down towards the end. Progressive metalcore is back in a big way, baby!
