Real Friends Debut New Vocalist on New Single ‘Nervous Wreck’
US pop punk outfit Real Friends unveiled the beginning of their new era this week with brand new single ‘Nervous Wreck’ unveiling the band’s new vocalist Cody Muraro. After parting ways with original frontman Dan Lambton back in February 2020, the remainder of Real Friends — Dave Knox [lead guitar], Kyle Fasel [bass], Eric Haines [rhythm guitar], and Brian Blake [drums] — very much pondered about what was to come of the band from here on out.
Thankfully, six months later, Real Friends sought new growth and opportunity by teaming up with Cody, which then reignited the very essence of what Real Friends brings to the pop punk community:
When the world came to a stop last year, we made the choice amidst the uncertainty that we’d use the time to figure out what the next chapter of Real Friends would be. Cody joined the band in the Spring of 2020, and ever since then we’ve been constantly writing, recording, refining, and planning for this day. It honestly feels like a dream to share this with all of you. Words cannot express what we’re truly feeling right now. Thank you for being a part of this.
With that being said, give a very warm welcome to our vocalist – Cody Muraro. He is like a brother to us. We’re so grateful to officially call him a member of the band.
This is a new era, but the spirit of Real Friends is still very much the same as it’s always been. We want our songs to help you. We want our songs to make you feel less alone, or at least a little more understood. I’m happy to say that we’re just getting started.
‘Nervous Wreck’, alongside accompanying track ‘Storyteller’ is the brand new single from Real Friends and celebrates the band’s iconic emo-rock energy and empowering punk attitude by signing on with independent rock label Pure Noise Records. Of course, continuing a band with a brand new vocalist has its challenges, but Cody seems to fit right in with the rest of the boys here.
