Memphis May Fire Finally Make A Return With Heavy New Single 'Blood & Water'

Besides their sick Linkin Park cover of 'Faint' back in 2019, we haven't been graced with new music from Memphis May Fire since their 2018 LP Broken. Well, the Texan metalcore band have just returned with brand new single 'Blood & Water', and uh - it's pretty heavy. The band have certainly 'progressed' their sound over the years and divided fans a bit with their more recent material, but their 2021 effort may reunite fans old and new.
The track is riffy instantaneously and has vocalist Matty Mullins spew some sick unclean vocals on top of a groove before he brings things in with his signature melodic chorus. The song is fast, catchy and has something truly for everyone. The pace and rhythm of 'Blood & Water' is reminiscent of the band's 2012 album Challenger and will get you adding it to your shuffle mix.
No news yet on a new album from Memphis May Fire of Rise Records, but some comments from Mullins on the new track that suggests we might get an update soon:
"With everything that's happened over the last year, it feels surreal to be releasing new music. Creating during a pandemic came with a lot of challenges. But looking back, I think we needed that time off the road to fall in love with writing songs again. 'Blood & Water' is just a taste of what's to come and we couldn't be more excited for the world to finally hear it."
