If you haven’t been streaming the fuck out of The Devil Wears Prada‘s latest masterpiece ZII (our review here) you’re failing at life. If you also missed our interview with frontman Mike Hranica, then you should rethink your life choices because when he spoke with Ricky Aarons, the conversation turned to the future and if the band had (or would) consider a third helping in the intensively heavy series.
Turns out, the thought only recently crossed Mike’s mind as he revealed:
“It’s funny, it took until like a week ago for me even to think about that, it sounds pretty exciting to me, honestly,”
The fan reactions and hype have been a key player in the band’s excitement to release new music which continues the story of their original Zombie EP from all the way back in 2010. Here we are 10 (err 11) years later and the sequel has just been released, welcomed with open arms by old and new fans alike. Because of those reactions, Mike and co. have considered the idea… if they’re still screaming their way into your lives in 2030:
“I’m so grateful for the reaction we’ve had so far… If people are as excited about this in ten years, I’ve no idea why we wouldn’t do another project.”
Rightfully so, but if you’re wanting it sooner than later, well, you’re gonna have to take matters into a more darker place apparently:
“If you put a gun to my head, I would have no problem writing five more sets of lyrics for another Zombie EP, so we’ll see how things roll out.”
Please don’t. Just enjoy what we have and keep your eyes and ears peeled for more zombie action from The Devil Wears Prada!
