Of Mice & Men have already released an EP this year titled Timeless and now they’re keeping the new music momentum flowing with the announcement of a new song called ‘Bloom‘ appearing online overnight. This new offering has a raw vocal performance from frontman Aaron Pauly who hones in on his screams with the rest of the band taking listeners on a journey of highs and lows throughout the track. It’s proggy metalcore with so much angst you’ll be taken back to your teenage years!
Vocalist/bassist Aaron Pauley shares with us how the song helped him overcome grief:
“‘Bloom’ is a song about grieving the death of a family member. It’s about understanding, through that loss, that grief is not only love in its most visceral and wildest form, but that it’s also the ultimate price we pay to experience such love. To know profound grief is to have known profound love. Nothing and no one lasts forever. Love isn’t a bouquet of plastic flowers; it’s watching the petals fall.”
If you’re one of those fans who wanted to see the band return to their heavy roots, you got it with this one. But wait, there’s more! This new track is the first to come from the band’s forthcoming EP, Bloom that’s being released via Sharptone Records on May 28.
