Get your oooffft face ready because Pridelands have stepped the fuck up and have a whole lot of news to celebrate this morning! The band has a brand new song called ‘Heavy Tongue‘ and they’ve signed with one of Australia’s BEST labels in the process.
The new track is atmospheric rock/core at it’s finest (think While She Sleeps) and showcases just how far this band have progressed in a short amount of time. ‘Heavy Tongue‘ also tackles a very important subject that’s been making headlines more and more over the past few years:
“Lyrically, the new single is at heart, a song about corruption in our home country of Australia, both from its inception to the current day. The track highlights tones of inequity, ranging from parliamentary ignorance, to the lack of indigenous cultural teaching in our education systems, to gender inequality. Too many of Australia’s inhabitants “graduate” from their places of education without learning a single thing of the culture, rituals and environmental preservation tactics that the First Nation’s peoples carved the way for so many years prior to the white man’s invasion of this land.”
And the lads have signed to Resist Records, alongside greats like Parkway Drive, Polaris and Bare Bones before them! On the signing, guitarist Liam Fowler says:
“We’re insanely humbled to be working with Resist Records for this release. So many of the bands on their roster have influenced us in some way over the years. Some we consider good friends, and some played a massive part in shaping and inspiring us a decade ago when we were just kids jamming in a garage. Feels crazy to think back to that and look at how things have evolved to this point, so we’re very grateful, and equally as excited to see where it may take us.”
Stay tuned for more from Pridelands and if they haven’t been on your radar until now, welcome!
