Justice For The Damned Unleash New Track ‘Sever What Makes Me Like Them’
Aussie deathcore heavyhitters Justice For The Damned have unveiled new single ‘Sever What Makes Me Like Them’ and it’s brutal AF. Tying together influences from fellow Aussies Thy Art Is Murder while continuing to carve out their own unique style in the local deathcore scene, these boys can utterly do no wrong.
Guitarist Nick Adams revealed that while the song was recorded during Pain in Power’s studio sessions, it didn’t quite fit into the rest of the album (our review here):
“Sever What Makes Me Like Them is a song about being born into our world with all its collective issues & darkness. Thematically speaking it’s inspired by the state of our societies. Outdated and built on exploitation of people & planet. It is a statement of frustration and anger, the initial flood of emotion that hits before you are able to deal with it if there’s any way that you can. Whilst this song still held relevance to the messages we wanted to get across, it didn’t quite fit the big picture of Pain Is Power which, rather than brooding in the darkness, looks at seizing strength amidst the pain of life. “
If you’re keen to sever your necks in the pit soon as well (or well, maybe try not to break anything), Justice For The Damned announced a national tour to finally celebrate their album, Pain is Power which was released way back in 2020 during COVID/iso times. Prepare your limbs!!!
