MOD SUN and blackbear Surprise Everyone in New Emotional Collab 'Heavy'

Alternative/emo pop is turning a new leaf this year with MOD SUN unveiling his latest full-length Internet Killed the Rockstar just last month (our review here). If you have yet to give it a go, I can't recommend it enough. With stellar anthems like 'Karma', 'Bones' and hit song 'Flames' (featuring Avril Lavigne), you can't really go wrong with this album, and it is one of my top albums of the year (so far).

MOD SUN's just announced his newest single, 'Heavy' and it's a new collab with fellow US emo/pop sensation blackbear, who is also no stranger to releasing catchy AF pop anthems like 'hot girl bummer' and 'queen of broken hearts'.

While we're a little sad that 'Heavy' isn't actually a song with high-energy distorted guitars and breakdowns, the track does hit you right in the feels with its sombre lyrical content and feelings of heartbreak. They've even dropped a line in there that relates straight back to current COVID times ("we been social distancing before there was Corona..."). Tie those together with a booming electronic pop beat, and here's yet another single that's going to soar the airwaves (and TikTok).
