Architects' Sam Carter Talks Winston McCall Collaboration 'Impermanence'
If you haven't heard Architects' stellar new release For Those That Wish To Exist yet our review here), line yourself up for an uppercut BUT, don't follow through just yet until you answer this question:
Have you watched Browny's Virtual Hang with frontman Sam Carter?

If the answer is also no, well, clock yourself now, then catch up because during their hangout, the question was raised about how their EPIC collaboration with Parkway Drive's Winston McCall on 'Impermanence' came about and Sam was more than willing to reflect on the subject and his long-standing connection with the Byron Bay boys:
"Getting him on it was the perfect part, it was made for him, you know, that build-up into the breakdown. It really reminds me [of], Horizons era Parkway [with] that drop. And what a vocalist, as vocalists go and as a person, he's one of the best" compliments Carter.
"I love this song, I really love how it came out. Winston's just such a nice guy... Parkway have always gone out of their way to look after us. They took us on our first tour to Australia, we played their first-ever London show over here, and we've been friends for so long..."

He's not wrong you know, many people have commented about just how nice Winston McCall is as a human and this can be backed up with how accommodating he was with Browny during their chat backstage at Good Things Festival in 2019.
And in the world of heavy music, there's no jealousy when it comes to each other's successes as Sam explains:
"It's one of those things where you don't get jealous watching them do stuff, you're just proud of them and you're stoked and you see them take these artistic jumps that they've done and gone 'yeah, that's amazing'"
The support these bands have for each other should be taken on board by every band within the scene. Just support your mates and fav bands and together, you'll flourish. It should also be mentioned that Architects' collaboration with Biffy Clyro's Simon Neil on 'Goliath' could be a gateway for heavy fans to get into that band too. This album now only showcases how far the Brighton boys have come in their career, but also shines a spotlight on other bands you should be checking out too.
