Rumours Unleash Anthemic Banger 'If Only You Could Feel Something Too'

Apart from once off single drops, we haven't really heard a whole lot from Melbourne alternative rock outfit Rumours. Maybe they were just laying low in the hopes of creating their most enthrilling, breakthrough piece of music yet. But things seem to be heating up for the band and well, it looks like staying low on the sidelines has paid off, because Rumours' latest single will knock you right off your seat.

Think along the lines of Ocean Grove's grungey, nu-metal groove meshed with the catchy, melodic choruses that are found within some of Sleeping With Sirens' biggest tracks, and that's what 'If Only You Could Feel Something Too' sounds like. Featuring a hook-filled chorus that ebbs and flows inbetween thumping rock melodies, Rumours have simply outdone themselves here, even if it did come with some challenges. The band sheds some light about their extended downtime during the creative process:

"It took longer than expected for this song to truly come together. There were parts that came with ease as if familiar and others that made us resent the process."

"The subject matter became a reflection of this tension. The song is a bit of a dance between passion and self-loathing. Whether that’s in a relationship, an aspiration or kicking/fostering a habit. Touching on the inner turbulence you find when you love what could be harmful or, inversely, doubt what could be great. How do you communicate those more extreme feelings with those around you? Wouldn’t it just be easier if they could feel something too?"

While we here at WoS generally save ratings for albums and EPs, I feel like I need to make an exception for this one. 'If Only You Could Feel Something Too' is an earth-shattering soundscape of catchy alternative, post-hardcore that's going to blow everyone's minds. 10/10 tuune. Well fucking done, Rumours.

I want more!
