Listen To Love And Death Covering DJ Snake/Justin Bieber

The big day has arrived! Brian ‘Head’ Welch of KoRn fame has released the long-awaited new album for his killer side project Love And Death (our review here) which also features Breaking Benjamin bassist Jasen Rauch.

We’ve been frothing over this band for a few months now and our OG writer Ricky Aarons even scored a chat with the dreadlocked man in question at the start of the year to chat all about their album Perfectly Preserved.

One of the questions that arose in the conversation between the pair was, why did ‘Head’ and co. decide to tackle a Justin Bieber cover on the album? Back in 2016, Bieber teamed up with DJ Snake and released the banging (yes it’s banging) single ‘Let Me Love You‘ which is coming dangerously close to hitting 1 Billion hits on YouTube alone these days!

On the cover, (which also features ex-Flyleaf frontwoman Lacey Sturm), ‘Head’ cheerfully went into detail about it, stating:

“It’s funny because JR sent the DJ Snake song with Justin Bieber to me and he said ‘okay, I’m not gonna say anything, just listen to this song, just tell me if you think we should cover this’ and I heard it and said ‘100% yes’.

And we’re glad he did because how to you make Justin Beiber sound better? With a dose of heavy behind him, that’s how (more evidence here). Brian also spoke about the time he first heard the track and we guess he felt a connection to the Canadian pop star at the time:

“I loved that song when it came out, that was when Bieber went through all his addictions, and he came back in a far more mature way.”

If you know anything about Head’s history, you’ll know he’s suffered his fair share of addictions, most problematically methamphetamine – and although the pop cover may raise some of his fans’ eyebrows, it seems like he connected with Bieber’s resolve. Listen to their rendition below!
