RIVALS Drop New Single ‘Strawberries’
I’ve been listening to US alternative/punk outfit RIVALS for quite some time now, but after checking out their latest song, ‘Strawberries’ I can’t help but notice how much they’ve evolved since their 2018 debut Damned Soul. Their musical style does veer towards what Paramore mastered throughout the 2000s, and hey, if you really are missing the golden years of Paramore, RIVALS would definitely be up your alley.
Featuring infectious pop sensibilities but with a rockier, emo edge, ‘Strawberries’ is a pessimistic look at growing up and staying alive. Fronted by vocalist Kalie Wolfe, she sings with a confidence in herself that only most of us wish we had. It’s a super fun, empowering track to jam to, that’s for sure.
If you dug that, RIVALS are set to release their brand new album, Sad Looks Pretty On Me on March 19 via Smartpunk Records and they’ve already unveiled the title track, ‘Sad Looks Pretty On Me’ just last month. This record is shaping up to be an even bigger, breakthrough release for RIVALs and I’m stoked for them as should you!
