ERRA Drop New Song ‘Scorpion Hymn’

Since announcing their fifth album just last month, ERRA are on a roll this year and have unleashed their brand new single ‘Scorpion Hymn’. While it’s not as strong as the band’s previous songs released, this one sees the band experimenting with intriguing soundscapes and enticing melodies that are meshed together with vocalist J.T. Cavey to create something almost as crushingly heavy as what we’ve heard so far. Guitarist Jesse Cash shares:

“The title refers to the fable of “The Scorpion and the Frog”, about the nature of violent instinct. It lent a means of having aggressive lyrics to compliment the aggressive style of the instrumentals. The theme deviates in the middle section with about 8 lines about self-reflection, hazy identity, perhaps imposter syndrome, and as final group of lines that summarise the development of jaded feelings towards aged aspirations.”

ERRA’s fifth album is out March 19 through UNFD. Pre-order here
