Wolf & Chain Drop 80s Inspired Video ‘An Honest Mistake’

If you’re yet to jump on Adelaide’s Wolf & Chain, then maybe their new video will finally up your enthusiasm. The band revealed their debut EP, An Honest Mistake last year (our review here), which saw them channel your inner emo child from the early 2000s, embodying a similar spirit we see in My Chemical Romance, Ice Nine Kills and Fall Out Boy.

The 80s-inspired music video for the band’s title track on the EP, ‘An Honest Mistake’ is set to the eerie backdrop of a high school prom (or “formal” being Australian). The video features emo cheerleaders, tough jocks and the band playing onstage, taking inspiration from some of our fav early 2000s music videos like Fall Out Boy’s ‘Dance Dance’. The band shares:

“We wanted to take some of the concepts and emotions from the EP and basically apply them to an 80s prom. So the band are cure-esque goths that use their cult-like powers to sway the prom. The clip is something that was maybe not what you would necessarily expect from a band like us and take the grand narrative we explored in the EP to a different place.”

It’s super aesthetically-pleasing to watch, and we are pumped to see this five piece continue reaching new heights in 2021!
