Wall of Sound presents: “2020 YEAR IN REVIEW” – by Like Moths To Flames’ Zachery Pishney
Next we’ve got our first international guest contributor taking part in our Year in Review series! Zachery Pishney from Like Moths To Flames dodged a few bullets fired by 2020’s COVID pandemic, but the boys still managed to release an album called No Eternity in Gold that fired fans up and got them keen to catch the band live again (our review here).
The newly signed UNFD blokes had big tour plans canned because of the worldwide crisis but they had plenty of time to froth over their peers in the industry and Zach has kindly told us which of those bands he spent the year with… Check out his 2020 Year in Review below…

LAST GIG YOU PLAYED BEFORE COVID?
I’m pretty sure the last gig we played was “Christmas Burns Red” in December 2019 with August Burns Red, Knocked Loose, Currents, Miss May I, and Hawk in Lancaster, PA.
HOW DID COVID AFFECT YOU/YOUR BAND?
We actually lucked out and got done recording our new album the first week of February. By the time the pandemic hit, we were still going over different mixes, and our producers were finishing up the record. We did have plans for a [US] summer co-headliner with an awesome band that was never announced because of the pandemic, so we just decided to release the record in the fall.
BIGGEST THING YOU LEARNED ABOUT YOURSELF IN 2020?
Sometimes, I just need to settle down and focus on the goals I want to accomplish. I also need to have a more positive outlook on the bad situations in life. Despite all of the chaos with the pandemic and general state of the world this past year, I have been able to accomplish a lot of the goals I set for myself due to having extra time at home with tours being cancelled.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2021?
Hopefully touring and playing shows again!
