We Are The Movies Drop New Single ‘Bury Me’ Featuring Beartooth’s Oshie Bichar!
Upcoming US pop punk act We Are The Movies are providing us with a refreshing take on post hardcore/emo with the release of their brand new single ‘Bury Me’. The Columbus, Ohio four-piece have also enlisted the help of Oshie Bichar, who you’re probably more familiar with playing bass in Beartooth. If you’re a pop punk fiend like myself, you’ll have seen him fronting his own pop punk band, City Lights back in the day.
‘Bury Me’ is a riff-fuelled track which sees We Are the Movies shying away from their pop punk roots, with the band’s former release … Or Get Busy Dying being a little more on the upbeat pop punk side and helmed by Hit the Lights’ Nick Thompson. These guys know all the right hook ups! ‘Bury Me’ sees We Are The Movies hone in on rockier melodies, shining a new light for the band and is an intriguing track full of potential. I can’t wait to see what else these guys do with this emo, post-hardcore sound.
While I won’t hold my breath for a City Lights reunion anytime soon, it’s great to hear Oshie delivering on vocals again and teaming up with We Are The Movies is an exceptional example of the camaraderie that exists amongst the Columbus Ohio music scene. Maybe we’ll even hear a little more of Oshie on the forthcoming Beartooth record?!
