Behold Bring Me The Horizon’s ‘Obey’ Feat. Yungblud!

2020’s most unexpected collaboration is here and goddamn this just works so fucking well. Bring Me The Horizon are venturing into pop rock/metal world with their new team up alongside rising role-model Yungblud who in the past has worked with Machine Gun Kelly and, on top of his own stuff, become an icon and role-model for the youth of today to look up to for how to be yourself and not give a flying FUCK what anyone thinks… Something BMTM have been honing in on over the past few years.

Their new song is called ‘Obey‘ and it’s an action-packed rock banger complete with a hilarious music video to boot featuring Oli Sykes and Yungblud going head to head in mechanical zords (akin to Power Rangers and a lot of those crazy Mecha Japanese Robot tv-shows).

But, the funny part comes towards the climax of the video which is certainly going to get a whole bunch of you BMTH elitists in stink and going off your nut at the content. To that I say, fuck you, enjoy the show and stop raining on everyone’s parade. No Spoilers here, just watch the video for yourself to see what I’m going on about.

The new song is about how we’ve all normalised society oppression with Oli adding:

“We consider ourselves free but only because the chains are invisible, and we are controlled in ways we don’t even want to think about. They tell us how to live with a smile on their face, like shit aint fucked up, inform us of tragic statistics like its nothing… it’s a weird world.”

Yungblud adds:

“We are being told to conform to a completely outdated idea that we don’t relate to or even understand. They teach us to turn against each other and to fight against our differences rather than embrace and celebrate them. They try to keep us divided because it makes us weaker. Robots follow robots, because they feel nothing at all. But what they don’t realize is that to us, to be different is to be free, and a world of fucking love and equality is a world we want to be part of. We will rise above the hate and the diversion. We will fight for the world we want to be a part of.  We will not obey.”

Obey‘ marks the band’s 3rd single from their upcoming Posthuman EP series which we are all eager as fuck to see what else they’ve been working on, on top of their monstrous track ‘Parasite Evewhich they debuted back in June.
