Wishful Thinking Return With ‘The Wrong Team’ Feat. STEVO From Area 7

Aussie punks Wishful Thinking returned to us last month with their offering ‘Time To Be Alone’ at a time when we needed it most and now they’re keeping the momentum going with the news of a brand new song out today featuring a cameo from another punk rock icon!

The boys have teamed up with John ‘Stevo’ Stevens from Area 7 to debut their new track ‘The Wrong Team‘, which is about that fine line between admirer and stalker that some of us have either been (or been on the opposite side of) so chances are this is going to bring back some memories, but hopefully in a more positive light.

On the collaboration with Stevo, the band says:

We met Stevo last year when we reunited. Our first two shows were with Area 7 in Melbourne and Adelaide. When we started recording again we were keen to have him do a guest spot on one of our songs so I just reached out to him and to our surprise he was super keen. We feel pretty privileged to have someone as iconic as him working with us. Area 7 was the first major band we ever played with. Our first big support gig was in 2001 with Area 7 and Millencolin at the Metro in Melbourne, so it feels right that he’s singing on one of our tracks. He’s pretty much the nicest guy in Australian music. There’s no competition or ego, the guy just loves playing music.

This is the band’s third single from their forthcoming EP One More Time which is set for release later this year. No further details on that but the band are back and that’s all that counts.
