Destroy All Lines General Manager Chris O’Brien Talks Gigs Returning, Future Plans + Massive New Roster!

If you missed the big news yesterday Destroy All Lines are set to explode once touring picks back up again in Australia with the huge announcement of their evergrowing band roster for tours across the country (and between us, they’ve got some incredible talent in their back pockets right now).

As we know already, the likes of Polaris, Alpha Wolf, Thornhill, and Justice For The Damned have been touring relentlessly via DAL for years now but they’re soon to be joined by the likes of (deep breath):

AlithiA, ALT., Antagonist A.D, Better Half, Caligula’s Horse, Carmeria, Chino Saturn, Circles, Darkcell, Deadlights, Deez Nuts, Diamond Construct, Ebonivory, Glass Ocean, Growth, Hollow World, James Norbert Ivanyi, Lagerstein, Mirrors, Orpheus Omega, Reliqa, Saviour, Silent Knight, The Stranger, To The Grave, Valhalore, Vanishing Point and Weighbridge!

A huge get for one of Australia’s best touring companies with a plethora of opportunities ahead that us, the fans, will rejoice in for years to come! On the news, we spoke with Destroy All Lines General Manager Chris O’Brien who was more than happy to share his excitement and future touring plans with us!

Congrats on the massive news Chris, you’ve essentially become an overlooking music father for these new and established acts. Why did this lot stand out from the pack

They stood out because the DAL agency team bought them all forward and were passionate about them. We discussed how we thought we could help develop them, looked at all their stats and tour histories and then reached out. We needed to see something in the artists that wouldn’t just resonate here but that they could make it in other markets too.

Some of the bigger artists like Caligula’s Horse and Circles came via discussions with Eli (Chamravi) and Wild Things recently. It was more us coming on as the promoter and offering them services to help get them to the next level which they jumped at so the entire Wild Things roster has joined us.

Ash (Hull) had his roster already which he has brilliantly developed over the last few years (including Polaris, Alpha Wolf, Thornhill, Justice For The Damned etc) and we continue on as the promoter for those artists too.

Touring is still a ways off, but what plans are in place for DAL to come back bigger and better once this pandemic ends?

We have rescheduled most of our tours into next year and we are working on a number of smart package tours with great value for money both domestically and for International bands. We want to offer even more incredible experiences for fans than we have before. We have some big projects we have been working on for a while that were about to see the light of day before this Pandemic hit. We have moved those to 2021 and beyond now but it’s very exciting for our team and we can’t wait for people to see what we have planned.

How soon do you think Australian Tours will return to normal for Destroy All Lines’ newly rostered (and on the books) bands?

For domestic acts, we are still working towards the end of Q4 this year in smaller cap rooms. We want to make sure what we put out there sells out. Shows that fans think are chock full of great supports and great value for money.
