Be still your beating prog-hearts but Dream Theater are heading back to Australia for a run of theatre shows celebrating The Distance Over Time Tour - Celebrating 20 Years Of Scenes From A Memory! The lads will be hitting up exquisite venues like QPAC in Brisbane, the Palais Theatre in Melbourne and more as they rip across the country in April (except Perth, sorry Perth).
On the trip down, guitarist John Petrucci says:
"Our updated presentation has all-new animated video content depicting the characters and storyline through the entire show as they’ve never been ‘scene’ before! For those of our fans who were either not born yet, too young, or had not yet been introduced to DT 20 years ago, this will be a fresh opportunity to experience scenes live for the first time in its entirety. We can’t wait to perform for all of you!"
No doubt, the band will also be playing songs from their latest offering Distance Over Time which our reviewer (and massive Dream Theater fan) stated:
"It seems these progressive kings will continue to shape and influence music in a way no other band does..."
