Senses Fail Unveil Re-Imagined “From The Depths Of Dreams EP” + Drop ‘Bastard Son’ Remake

17 years ago Senses Fail released a career-starting EP called From The Depths Of Dreams which many fans still regard as one of their best releases, however, almost two decades later, the band has changed lineups and progressed as musicians, so much so, they’re going to revisit the album and give it an update with the newly announced reimagined version on the way on, released on September 6th.

The band released an anecdote about the EP, along with some old, live footage which is a nostalgic hit to the head:

Seventeen years ago today we released an EP titled From The Depths Of Dreams on ECA records, press only 300 copies. It consisted of six songs and it was the start of what would be a wild ride. Most of us were still in high school or had just graduated a month earlier. It was before the big explosion of this music into the mainstream and the music was still very much local and related to regions of the country. There was no streaming, no Spotify no IPhones. The only way to hear about music was to go to shows. We started a time when music was still very pure and we are thankful to have had the opportunity to exist and to keep existing. In the face of all that is overwhelming and awful in this world our ability to create and connect is what shines light into the darkness.

Frontman Buddy Nielsen has come out and explained his reasoning for changing the lyrics for their newly re-released song ‘Bastard Son‘ on the band’s Twitter page saying:

Which makes perfect sense when you look back at your youthful days and cringe every time those ten-year old Facebook memories pop up, you’re a different person now and so if Buddy so just take it as it is and deal with it…
