PREMIERE: Get To Know The Motion Below With Their New ‘Figureheads’ Video + Upcoming Show!
The next band that took us by surprise with their sound is Melbourne fourpiece The Motion Below who have kindly asked us to premiere their brand new video for ‘Figureheads‘ today which comes from their forthcoming EP Cronus Complex (out August 30th).
The band have managed to tell a story through the song about a man who is struggling with feelings of insecurity and his perceived rejection from the world around him as unclean vocalist Thomas Katgert explains:
“[the protagonist] has spent much time alienated from involving themselves in things they’re interested in due to the ostracism of their peers. This culminates in a critique on the many people of influence who happen to enable this behaviour, and a rallying cry to all those who may find themselves in the same situation.”
And we all do it from time to time, we second guess ourselves and our actions so it’s interesting to hear the band’s heavy take on that through their music and their EP further explores this idea and theme. If you like what you hear, you can pre-order the five-track release via iTunes right here
