Dream State Drop Screamy New Song ‘Primrose’ + Announce Danny Lewis’ Departure

One of our fav UNFD signings of recent years has been the UK’s Dream State who keep getting better and better with every song they release and today is an indication of that with their latest scream-filled song ‘Primrose‘ dropping and holy shit it’s synth rock goodness at it’s best. Vocalist CJ Gilpin realllly showcases her raw, natural talent in this track which I can guarantee will be a fan favourite for those who caught their first and only Australian performance at UNIFY Gathering earlier this year (our coverage here).

On the new song, CJ also said:

“Sometimes life will put you to the test, we can find ourselves in these cycles and they present themselves in different forms, when I thought I had broken one of mine, I found myself right back at square one, I was in pursuit of pleasure despite the negative outcomes and I found myself trapped again.

“Sometimes we have to fall and fall to truly awaken and conquer our egos. There’s still so much we have to learn about ourselves and this is a chance to express my journey and open the door to anyone fighting the same demons. We want you to see that through darkness, light can be found.”

Some sad news from the band is that OG bassist Danny Lewis has departed to spend more time with his family as guitarist Aled Evans revealed:

“Unfortunately we’re having to say goodbye to our friend and bassist Danny, as he has decided to focus his time on his wonderful family. We wish him all the best with his future and we’ll miss him dearly!”

No album or EP news with this song yet but hopefully we hear something soon! In the meantime, revisit our interview with CJ and guitarist Rhys Wilcox backstage at UNIFY 2019 right here.
