Not only are Gravemind gearing up for the release of their new album Conduit on July 19th via Greyscale Records, but they’ve been dropping clues and cypher games for fans to join in on the hype and they’re nailing it at the moment (revisit some of the codes we’ve cracked here). The latest teaser seriously takes the cake for some of the best marketing for an album we’ve ever seen too!
Some fans who pre-ordered the new album have received cryptic items including photos and a letter which could potentially be lyrics from a forthcoming song called ‘Phantom Pain‘, which the band look set to release this Thursday, June 20th.
Superfan Darcy Lock aka @DarcyDTD shared his findings with us and we’ve put together the pieces:
The scattered letters on the back of the photos, spell out the words Phantom Pain when placed together like a puzzle (which is track #6 on the new album) and the date 20/6 obviously means June 20th (this Thursday).
The letter’s written contents (which speaks about a baby from a new parent’s perspective) could be the spoken word section of the song that frontman Dylan Gillies-Parsons is reknown for with other Gravemind tracks, so take a look and get your first hand glimpse at the band’s new offering.
It should also be mentioned that the Gravy boys were selling merch on their recent tour supporting Make Them Suffer (our Melbourne coverage here) which had the song ‘Phantom Pain‘ printed on it… Keep your eyes peeled Thursday, we’ll give it to you all once we get it in our hot little hands!
