Deadlights drop new song/video 'Bathed In Venom'

Brisbane's Deadlights are officially baacckkkk!!! The band have released their first new single since the release of 2017's Mesma (our review here) which completely took us by surprise and this new single 'Bathed In Venom' continues that tradition, with an epic sounding metalcore track complete with screams, cleans and plenty of throwdown opportunities. It kinda reminds me of Underoath a bit too and thats not exactly a bad thing!
On the new song, frontman Dylan Davidson explained:
"Bathed In Venom is a song about defeating the inner voice that rings in everyone's ears whispering negative things. The one saying 'you’re not good enough'; making you question your art and ability. It’s about climbing out of a mental hole and taking an aggressive stand against that voice. Shouting in defiance 'I’m taking control!' That feeds right into the ethos Deadlights live by."
The boys were great to meet when we first caught them at Big Sound 2017 (our coverage here) and there was just something about them we couldn't wait to see, with a bit more progression. After signing with Greyscale Records, we're starting to see the full potential this band has and cannot wait to see what the future holds for them. Revisit our interview with Dylan from Big Sound here.
