Ozzy Osbourne has cancelled his Download Festival JAPAN appearance on doctors orders

We’ve been following Ozzy Osbourne‘s health scare very closely, especially with his connection to Download Festival Australia where he is set to headline both dates in Sydney and Melbourne but the crew over at Download Festival Japan have just announced Ozzy has pulled out on strict doctors orders which state he needs six weeks to rest and recover.

In a statement on Facebook, they said:

Ozzy, who has been suffering from pneumonia, has left the hospital, but has been told to continue to receive treatment at home for a period of six weeks. We wish Ozzy all the best for a full and speedy recovery, and a comeback show in Japan.

Download Festival in Japan takes place on March 21st, ten days after Download Festival Melbourne. We have reached out for a comment from organisers here in Australia but no word as of yet.

Now, before getting in a huff about things, it should be mentioned that until we get the official word that Ozzy has cancelled, we know nothing besides speculation, but given the time frame it can only be assumed that he will have to cancel his appearances here.

In saying that, we don’t know what the team behind the scenes at Download Festival Australia are planning or trying to work out. Replacement? Artist Reshuffling? Longer Sets? Anything can happen, so like us, please wait patiently for word. Once we receive it, you’ll know within minutes.

We wish Ozzy the best with his recovery…
