Ocean Grove finally unveil thumpingly psychedelic single/video 'Ask For The Anthem'

Since teasing us on Sunday that their new lineup was coming, Ocean Grove debuted their newest member Twiggy yesterday (who fills the void left by ex-frontman Luke Holmes and guitarist Jimmy Hall) and now, they've finally released their first song together called 'Ask For The Anthem' which according to Dale Tanner sees the band pushing themselves musically:

"We pushed our own limits of experimentation on this track... It is by far the most time and energy we have invested into any one song. Just so you know, this is not a song about being cool and getting the girl. Look closer."

The song itself is psychedelically funky, catchy as fuck and not only brings back a few elements from the band's previous releases but something different akin to those sexy basslines Flea brought to the Red Hot Chili Peppers all those decades ago. Dale now moves into the band's frontman position, with Twiggy taking on the role of bassist/sik lad mullet sporter. If you missed it, Twiggy is no stranger to the Australian heavy music scene, already having fronted The Beverly Chills (suss their Facebook), so most of us already have an idea of what to expect when it comes to his musicianship, and, not surprising at all, he fits the quirkiness that Ocean Grove ooze so perfectly, it's like he's been there since day one...

If you're keen to know more about the band's new era, keep an eye out for this week's episode of Wall of Sound: Up Against The Wall where frontman Dale Tanner will spill the beans on everything you want/need to know... Got a question you want us to ask? Leave it in the comments below!

If you're liking this new (but familiar) sound though, grab the song here
