It wouldn't be a music festival without one small hiccup, right? Andy Black, frontman for Black Veil Brides was supposed to be playing Download Festival Australia but unfortunately, he's had to pull out, leaving fans with a statement of:

“Due to scheduling conflicts I will not be able to make the trip to Australia as planned. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused but I have every intention to reschedule a tour and see all of you as soon as possible.”

But never fear, California rockers New Years Day have slipped into the position and will fill it nicely. The band have just wrapped up a tour with fellow Download attendees Halestorm and impressed crowds with their on-stage personas and talent.

The band were formed after frontwoman Ashley Costello's obsession with bands like AFI, My Chemical Romance and Marilyn Manson got the better of her and she wanted to give it a crack herself. After going through a few lineup changes since first coming out back in 2005, Ash has since teamed up with drummer James Renshaw, bassist Frankie Sil and new lead guitarist Austin Ingerman who have perfected their performance together and even have some new material on the way for us this year. We can't wait to see what they've got as they make their debut Australian Exclusive Performances at Download.

Also, if you missed the news last week Mary’s, Jake and Kenny are returning in 2019 to with a plethora of food options for you to pace yourself during the day.
